Jazzing It Up During Quarantine

May 6, 2020

Hello Beehive families!! I hope you all are doing good and hanging in there during this time. Want to thank all of you for all your hard work! During this quarantine a lot of events had to be canceled (understandably) like Jazz Fest. As we know New Orleans is known for the music and its culture with Jazz Fest being one huge fest here. Since our little ones love music and love to dance we are going to focus on a lot of fun ways to enjoy music with your families the best way we can!

Bubble Dance Party:

One thing we love in the Beehive is bubbles and music! So why not have a bubble party with some music in the background. The kids love to hear Baby Shark, We are the dinosaurs or any music that they can just have fun and dance to.

We love to play music that gets them to listen to it or find themselves repeating it and learning word by word. We include songs with the ABC’s, counting to 10 or 20, or songs that get them moving their bodies and working them gross motor skills and working with each other.

Enjoying music with your little one is a chance to engage in learning different instruments, different cultures, different sounds and ask lots of questions. This week you should try switching up the music you usually play and include some instrumental music that gets them listening to the different instruments being played!

“Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and life to everything.” -Plato
